Cry Journal #1
Setting:
The first three paragraphs i tabed because they really describe where the book takes place and it is really detailed. Example: "The grass is rich and matted, you cannot see the soil. It holds the rain and mist, and they seep into the ground, feeding the streams in every kloof". this is really well explained and bring you into the book.
Language:
In the book Cry, The Beloved Country one thing i noticed is the word umfundisi. In the book the word is used a lot. the word "umfundisi" means "parson," but is also a title and used with respect. When you are reading the book and read closely you will notice whent he kid is talking to the guy the kid keeps refering to his as umfundisi.

Cry Journal #2
In the book Cry, the Beloved Country, women are treaded very differently then the men are. When the men talk to the women the dont call them by there name, they call them her, or she. They are also disrespected by the men. Back in the time that this book takes place in; the girls dont have all the rights that the men have so there for the men are mainley in control.
